Yesterday the boys and girls soccer teams took to the field against Father Gorman in their opening game of the season. The boys played first, and got a one goal lead after the first half of play. After a short water break and a pep talk from the coaches the boys came out strong in the second half. They had a few good chances early on and finally put two more in the back of the net to take a 3-0 lead. That's how the game ended thanks to some great goaltending and team defense by the Tigers. This is a great confidence booster for the boys as they look to face the St. Joe's Stars tonight at 4pm at Participark field.
As for the Lady Tigers, they looked a little nervous early on in the game but managed to score two in the first half of play to stay even with Father Gorman. I didn't get to see the second half of the match, but are girls must have came out strong because they scored another two goals and won the game 4-2. The girls play again tonight against St. Joe's at Participark following the boys game. Hope to see you at the game to cheer them on!
