Last week, the grade 7 track team and I headed over to LCHS to compete against other Lloydminster area schools in the City Track Meet. The grade 7's were entered in the Bantam Division (under 14) and competed against other grade 7 and 8 students. It was a new experience for some of them as were some of the events that they competed in such as triple jump, discus, shot put and javelin. Our students had a very good showing and some athletes were eligible to move on to the District Track Meet in Meadow Lake.

We also had our school track meet this past week. We were fortunate enough to have a nice sunny day, but not too hot to be out running around. The grade 3-7 students were all in attendance and performed with amazing results in our five events. I was very impressed especially with our grade 3 and 4 students who have some great athletic abilities. It looks like we will continue to have some strong track athletes in the years to come. Results for our school meet can be found under the Athletic Information tab on the left of this post. Unfortunately, I do not have and pictures from the day because I was working the track all day.
A special thank you goes out to all of our parent volunteers that helped with out student groups and timing races on the track all day. Without all of you this day would not have been possible. Thank you again so much!
Finally, the top finishers in grades 4-7 from our school meet will compete against the other LCSD elementary schools on Monday in our first annual LCSD Division Track Meet at Holy Rosary High School. If your interested in attending the event begins at 9:00am and finishes up around 12:30pm. If you can't make it, use the following QR code to follow the action live on Monday.
